The Windsor Dukes trailed most of the game but were able to catch the Carson Graham Eagles at the end of regulation and squeaked out a one point victory in overtime to win the opening game at the AAA Howe Sound Championship.
The Eagles looked good early and led 17-11 at the end of the first quarter. The Eagles looked to have things in control at that point but the Dukes served notice and the game was tied at 21 three minutes into the second quarter. The game remained tight, Carson took a 4 point lead to the locker room, but neither team could put together a run to take much of a lead in the second half. Carson held the lead late in the fourth quarter, but Windsor took advantage of a couple of Carson turnovers late in the game to snatch the victory.
Braden Snelling had 19 points to lead the Dukes and was selected Player of the Game for his efforts. Khalil Shivji chipped in with 12 points for WIndsor, while Keian Sanjari and Josh Servillon led Carson scorers with 19 and 12 points respectively.
